Rare Scottish Silver Rampant Lion Menu Holder HM Edinburgh 1905 £275.00

Super condition large sized silver menu/place card holder hallmarked in Edinburgh 1905 with the makers mark being that of Robert Wilson & Andrew Sharp.

The Latin wording on the front at base which reads FIDE ET FORTITUDINE translates into English as -By faith and courage- and has been the family moto of the Scottish clan of Farquharson since around the 5th century.

 
It measures 85mm in length and 61mm in height, weighs 39 grammes.
