Victorian Violin Case Shaped Vinaigrette Birmingham 1848 £300.00

Very unusual hallmarked silver Vinaigrette by David Pettifer hallmarked in Birmingham in the year 1849-Shaped as a violin or chello case.

This would have at one point had a base sponge in it but would not have held a pierced grill we associate with the more common rectangular vinaigrette's.

Condition is not quite perfect...Small gap when closed and a slight tear at the narrower end...Also a very old repair to base interior back seem.

Measures 74x31mm at widest point and weighs 18 grammes.
